THE TOOL WE WERE MISSING OURSELVES
A building project is described three times: in the BIM model, in the building element specifications and in the bills of quantities. All three have to say the same thing. The problem is that they are maintained separately.
THE PROBLEM
When a building element changes, the change has to be caught in three places. In practice it is caught in two. The inconsistency surfaces late – if it surfaces at all – and it costs time before handover and money afterwards, in the shape of extra bills, defects and, at worst, arbitration.
That is not solved by checking more. It is solved by letting the three things look at each other.
THE SOLUTION
The Glasshouse building element journal holds the data at element level and highlights visually where the model, the specification and the bill of quantities disagree. You are taken to the inconsistency instead of having to hunt for it.
Glasshouse does not replace the software you use today. It sits alongside it, so the way you work stays the same – only with an overview that holds all the way through.
HOW WE WORK
BUILT WITH ITS USERS
Glasshouse was built in close dialogue with leading architectural and engineering practices. The features come from projects that were actually running – not from an idea of how they ought to run.
THE TOOL STAYS OUT OF THE WAY
Glasshouse needs neither special IT skills nor new software. If you can design a project today, you can use Glasshouse tomorrow.
WE SEE THE ROLLOUT THROUGH
A stack of licences is not a benefit in itself. We train, we support, and we help put in place the workflows that make the benefit real.
3DBYGGERI DANMARK
WE ADVISE, DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT
Glasshouse is developed and run by 3dbyggeri danmark ApS in Copenhagen. We have advised the construction industry on digitalisation since 2007.
We work on both sides of the table: with the architects and engineers who design the project, and with the building material manufacturers who have to deliver usable product data into it. So we know both the data that enters a building project and what it costs further down the line when that data does not add up. That double view is what Glasshouse is built on.
Besides Glasshouse we are behind Tilbudslister.dk, and we advise manufacturers on data management and BIM through 3dbyggeri.dk.
